FORT MYERS BEACH TRAVEL GUIDE

Fort Myers Beach is a popular yet small beach town located just outside south the city of Fort Myers, Florida, known for it's floury, soft white sand beach that stretches the entire length of Estero Island from north to south on the Gulf of Mexico.

Fort Myers Beach is a popular spot for snowbirds who like a more lively and beach town atmosphere compared to nearby Sanibel, spring breakers from colleges in the south-east, and even high school spring breakers. While each hotel or vacation rental has their own calendar that does vary slightly, high season generally starts in December and lasts through April, although November and May are also great times to be at the beach.

There are a number of activities from boat & jet ski rentals to the Key West Express ferry, and plenty of places to stay from vacation rentals and resorts to bed and breakfasts and hotels in Fort Myers Beach to fit almost anyone's interests while visiting this beautiful part of Florida. Key West is also only a 3 hour ferry ride (or 30 minute plane ride) away and you can drive or boat to a number of other islands with distinct different vibes if you are looking to explore.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach officially covers 6.2 square miles, although 2.9 of those square miles are water and part of the Florida Intracoastal Waterway. The remaining portion is made up of Estero Island, San Carlos Island and a small part of "mainland" Florida, although many visitors to the area spend their entire time on Estero Island.

First time visitors may benefit by reading about getting to Fort Myers Beach to make their trip hopefully a little bit easier.

I have […]
